Hey there!

I’m so excited to share this collection from Hannah and Chase’s engagement session in Dallas. When Hannah first pitched the idea of a direct flash, editorial-style shoot in some of the city’s coolest, most unexpected spots, I was instantly in love. She wanted something bold and unconventional, with a hint of retro glamour, and I knew we were going to have a blast bringing her vision to life.

We went back and forth over text, planning out all the little details — from two stunning outfit choices (a sleek black dress and a fun little white dress) to the exact vibe she was going for. When the day finally arrived, we kicked things off at a bar. Picture this: Hannah finishing her makeup at the bar, cocktail in hand — honestly, such an iconic move! Meanwhile, Chase soaked up the energy of the place, and I could tell right away this was going to be a special session.

We started with a few outdoor shots to ease into things, then wandered around until we found the perfect spots. Our first bar had a fee for photo sessions (no thanks!), but the next one welcomed us with open arms. It was empty, dark, and perfect. We took some dynamic direct flash shots, played around with the piano, and let the moodiness of the place work its magic.

From there, we continued our adventure — a walk-up bar for some adorable shots, a stop at a cigar lounge where Chase added a little old-school cool with a cigar in hand, and Hannah, looking absolutely stunning in both of her outfits. I loved the textures and ambiance there — it felt like a different world.

Then came a cozy corner bar with the most charming black-and-white tiles, where we sipped on some incredible orange cocktails (seriously, I need that recipe!). After that, we stumbled into a Mexican restaurant with a vibe I couldn’t resist, so I switched gears to capture some candid, documentary-style shots before guiding them back into those editorial poses that Hannah dreamed of.

We wrapped things up at a dark, moody cocktail bar that was kind enough to let us shoot in their space. A few last shots on our way back to the car, and we called it a day. They headed off for dinner, and I headed home, already eager to dive into editing these beautiful moments.

I feel so lucky to have been a part of this creative journey with Hannah and Chase. It was a day full of laughter, discovery, and capturing their love in a way that felt real and uniquely theirs.
