Austin Texas Wedding PHotographer

making real life look like art

About Annie

Austin Wedding Photographer

I’m Annie Austin — an Austin wedding photographer who believes the most beautiful images come from feeling safe enough to be yourself.

My work isn’t about stiff poses or performing for the camera. It’s about creating a calm, grounded space where you can breathe, settle into your own rhythm, and let real connection unfold. When you feel safe, the art becomes honest — and that’s where the magic is.

Before I ever lift my camera, I listen. I want to understand who you are, what you treasure, and how you want your wedding day to feel. That emotional clarity shapes everything — the way I use light, the moments I quietly wait for, the pauses I choose to honor. The result isn’t just a collection of photos. It’s a visual memory of what the day felt like, not just how it looked.

I’ve spent the past several years photographing weddings throughout Austin, the Hill Country, and beyond, always with the same intention: to help couples slow down, be present, and see their story reflected with truth and care. My background in the arts and human studies shaped how I see people — not as subjects to be directed, but as whole stories waiting to be witnessed.

Whether your celebration is an intimate backyard ceremony, an Austin courthouse elopement, or a full weekend gathering, my role is to bring ease, steady guidance, and emotional presence. I’ll help you feel seen, not staged. Held, not hurried.

Because you don’t have to perform to be remembered.
You just need someone who knows how to see you — fully, gently, and honestly.

Serving Austin Texas

My Approach. Art First, Alway

As an Austin wedding photographer, my process begins long before the wedding day. I believe your photos should feel like you — honest, unhurried, and alive with meaning. The camera is only one part of the equation. What truly shapes the art is how you feel in front of it.

I create a calm, grounded environment where you can soften into the moment. You’ll never be asked to pose like someone else or perform for the camera. Instead, I guide gently, noticing the details that often go unseen — the way your hands find each other, the quiet breath after the vows, the laughter that slips out when you forget I’m there. Those are the moments that hold truth, and they’re what I love most to photograph.

My approach blends intuition with artistry. I move slowly and intentionally, letting emotion and atmosphere lead the way. Whether I’m documenting a Hill Country celebration, an Austin backyard wedding, or an intimate elopement, I’m always watching for light, movement, and meaning — the in-between moments that tell the real story.

I believe the best images aren’t created through heavy direction; they’re witnessed. My role is to hold space for you to be fully present while I document what unfolds naturally. When you look back at your gallery, I want you to remember how it felt to be there — not the performance, not the pressure, but the warmth, the truth, the tenderness.

Because the experience is part of the art.
And your story deserves to be seen with honesty, care, and intention.

Let’s create something unforgettable.

What it's like To work together

Working together should feel easy, calm, and human. As your Austin wedding photographer, my job is to create a process that supports you from the first email to the final gallery — simple, clear, and full of intention.

1. A Clear and Welcoming Beginning

Once you inquire, you’ll get a thoughtful, straightforward guide that walks you through everything — pricing, what to expect, and how I work. We’ll set up a call to talk through your vision and answer questions, so you feel grounded before anything is booked.

2. Planning That Feels Like Collaboration

I’ll send a questionnaire to learn about your relationship, what matters most to you, and the energy of your wedding day. We’ll also discuss light, timing, and meaningful locations. This part is gentle and conversational — more about understanding your world than ticking boxes.

3. A Wedding Day That Feels Natural

On the day itself, I blend in with your people. I give direction only when it’s helpful and step back when moments unfold on their own. You won’t have to think about the camera or worry about what to do. You get to be present. I take care of the rest.

4. A Thoughtful, Hand-Crafted Gallery

After the wedding, I sort and edit your images with care — looking for emotional through-lines, subtle details, and the memories that anchor your story. Your gallery will feel cohesive, natural, and true to the day.

5. Optional Albums and Prints

If you want something tangible, I’ll help you choose images and design an heirloom piece that fits your home and your life.

Working together is simple, steady, and intentional — a process designed to help you feel supported while we create art that reflects who you are.

If you’re looking for wedding photography that captures the real, the raw, and the beautiful, let’s connect.

Austin Texas Weddings I've Documented

bride and groom at wedding in Lockhart tx

Amanda & Matt

Wedding at The Caroline

Amanda and Matt’s wedding at The Caroline in Lockhart was one of those days that reminded me why I love photographing Austin-area weddings so much — unhurried, deeply personal, and full of quiet sweetness. The venue’s old-Texas charm held their celebration with such warmth, from the soft light spilling across the courtyard to the intimate gathering of their closest people. Their connection was effortless and honest, the kind that unfolds naturally without needing direction or performance. Being there felt like witnessing a story told in small gestures — the laughter between them, the way their hands kept finding each other, the comfort of two people who feel like home. It’s the kind of wedding that stays with you, not because of production or spectacle, but because of the emotion that lived in every moment.

Candyce & Hayden

Wedding at a ranch in Wimberley

Candyce and Hayden’s wedding on their family ranch in Wimberley felt like the quiet kind of magic the Hill Country does so well — wide open skies, oak trees holding the light, and a day shaped entirely by the people and place they love most. There was an ease to their celebration, the kind that comes from being on land that’s part of their story. Kids ran barefoot through the grass, laughter carried across the pasture, and their ceremony unfolded in the soft evening glow. Everything about it was personal and intentional, rooted in connection rather than production. Documenting their day meant noticing the small, tender moments — the way they looked at each other when no one was watching, the warmth of their families, the sense of home woven into every detail. It was simple, beautiful, and unmistakably them.

Erin & Nolan

Wedding at Red Ridge Receptions

Erin and Nolan’s wedding at Red Ridge Receptions was the perfect blend of Texas hilltop beauty and heartfelt simplicity. The venue’s sweeping views and warm stone textures created a backdrop that felt both grand and grounding — the kind of place where the light lingers and everything slows down just enough to breathe. Their day was full of emotion in the quietest ways: the soft anticipation before the ceremony, the way Nolan’s face softened when he saw Erin, the easy laughter shared between their families as the sun dropped behind the ridge. Nothing felt staged or rushed. Their celebration moved with an unforced rhythm, shaped by genuine connection and the natural beauty around them. Photographing their wedding meant following that ease — letting the landscape, the light, and their love tell the story honestly.

Ready to Tell Your Story

If you’ve been searching for an Austin wedding photographer who values honesty over perfection and connection over posing, you’re in the right place. My work is centered on documenting your story as it naturally unfolds.

Wedding collections begin at $3,500, with optional film add-ons and custom coverage for Austin, the Hill Country, and beyond. Every collection includes a collaborative planning call, timeline support, and a full gallery of hand-edited images that reflect your wedding day exactly as it felt.

If that sounds like the experience you want, let’s start the conversation.

I’m Annie

Your Dallas Texas Wedding Photographer

I’m Annie — an Austin wedding photographer who somehow turned a lifelong habit of paying attention into a career I love. I’m married to my best friend and a proud step-mom to two wonderful kids who keep our world full of noise, laughter, and the kind of chaos that makes life feel real. When I’m not photographing weddings, you can usually find me with an iced coffee, exploring antique shops, or stealing a quiet minute wherever I can find it.

I didn’t fall in love with photography because of the technical side of it. I fell in love with the way people look at each other when they think no one is watching… the small gestures, the real emotions, the stories tucked into ordinary moments. That’s still what drives me.

And while I’ll never ask you to be perfect in front of the camera, I do care deeply about making the photos perfect for you — personal, honest, and full of the real connection you share. My goal is simple: to create images you can return to years from now and still feel something true.

.

Do you photograph weddings outside of Austin?

Yes. While most of my work is in Austin and the Hill Country, I happily travel throughout Texas and beyond. The experience stays the same no matter where your wedding is held.

More than okay, it’s normal. Most of the couples I work with feel this way at first. You don’t need to pose or know what to do. I guide gently when you need direction and step back when a moment unfolds naturally. My goal is to help you feel comfortable enough to be yourselves.

Quiet, intentional, and people-focused. I move in a way that lets the day breathe — stepping in when support helps, stepping back when real emotion is already happening. I’m there to document your story as it unfolds, not reshape it.

Both. Film is part of my regular process, used intentionally throughout the day when the light, moment, or emotion calls for it. It adds depth and warmth to your gallery while still blending seamlessly with the digital images.

You’ll receive a full, curated gallery that tells the complete story of your day. I don’t limit meaning, if an image adds to the narrative, it’s included.

Every collection includes a planning call, timeline guidance, and a full gallery of hand-edited images that reflect your day honestly and beautifully. Wedding coverage begins at $3,500 with options to customize based on what you need.

Reach out through my contact form, and I’ll send everything you need to know. From there, we’ll hop on a call to make sure it feels right. A signed contract and retainer secure your date.

Absolutely. Whether your celebration is unconventional, intimate, or full of personal quirks, I’m here for it. If it matters to you, I want to document it with care.

Let's Create Something Unforgettable

If you’re drawn to this approach and want a photography experience that feels calm, supportive, and genuinely personal, I’d love to connect.
There’s no pressure just a simple conversation about your plans, what matters most to you, and whether this feels like the right fit.

I’m here to answer questions, offer clarity, and help you start shaping a wedding day that feels true to you.
