This session didn’t need a grand location or a detailed plan. It needed a backyard, a blanket, and two people who really see one another.
Catie and Nico invited me into their backyard in McKinney, TX for their engagement session. Their golden pup trotted around while we settled into slow, intentional pace. It wasn’t about the perfect angle or a list of poses. It was about them being fully present with each other.
They were a little nervous at first…totally normal. But within minutes, they fell into their comfort zone. Nico looked at Catie with such a quiet love, and she softened right into it. We kept things simple: a blanket on the grass, sunlight filtering through the trees, a lot of laughter, and zero pressure to perform.
This backyard engagement session was bout celebrating the in-between. The season before the vows, before the venue. The kind of moment that can slip by unnoticed but holds so much meaning when you slow down long enough to see it.
